Global Teleports

Formed in 1998 Global Teleports has grown from green field ambitions to become a leading contender In the UK for global service delivery offering Voice, Data and Video Branded services from three sites bordering the Atlantic Indian and Pacific Oceans.

Between 1998 and 2005 licensing (for both Permanent earth station (PES) and VSAT networks), planning permissions and construction were completed at it’s operational HQ at Brookman’s Park in Hertfordshire on the site of an (ex-BBC) operational radio station; On the 6th March 2005 Global Teleports went operational, when the 9.5m dish was commissioned. The large 9.5m Ku band dish is really sensitive and technically ideal as a VSAT hub allowing us to work to very small, low powered remote terminals.

Since then we have expanded our wholly owned infrastructure with additional teleports activated in Washington (USA) and Adelaide (Australia). Future (UK) plans include further expansion to bring, Goonhilly and Rugby, Woodbine (USA), Perth (Australia) and Hong Kong (China) online in 2012.

Each teleport provides access to multiple satellites to its east and west. Our selection of the sites is strategically based to give us network resilience and dual illumination of satellites in each ocean region as follows:

 The Black hubs on the map have already been commissioned and the red are planned additional hubs which will bring additional resilience and increase the number of accessible satellites.

Global Teleports (UK) Ltd is wholly privately owned and has independent licenses and planning permission to develop a business focused on broadband services via satellite in both Ku and C- band. We have developed a Branded Platform of IP based services, called “VipNet ” designed specifically by Global Teleports and proven in service for maximum quality at a reduced bandwidth. VipNet services are, delivered by all of our hubs, are managed solely by Global Teleports through our Network Operations Control Centre (NOCC) at Brookmans Park near London.

We provide and manage our own services and not simply resell off the shelf platforms designed  , managed and heavily contendered by other operators via the satellite companies. These virtual hub solutions, could maybe restrict your future demands for service as your requirements change.
